The car may try to con you though as the main screen continues to show the previously selected mode anc the mode button stays lit even though the car has reverted to normal. To silence the alarm and start the car, fold the key away then put your foot on the brake and use the key fob to press the start button. The transducer in the fob will still work but only at a very short range so it is important to put the key right against the start button.
