Re: Disco 3 tdv6 Engine System Fault. Hard reset (Disconnect and connect together +ve and -ve battery terminals for 30 - 45 seconds) and full battery charge and your Disco should be making you smile in no time. If not, you need someone to plug in to read the fault codes. Stay Safe.
I did a Google search and found a list of the fault code descriptions: 00 - no faults. 11 - in car temp sensor fault. 12 - ambient sensor fault. 13 - thermistor fault. 14 - heater coolant sensor fault. *21 - left sunlight sensor fault - open or shorted. *22 - right sunlight sensor fault - open or shorted. 31 - left servo motor.

Engine System Fault. On a recent trip to Namibia I got the Engine System Fault message about 5 times in 7000kms, accompanied by loss of power and lots of smoke when accelerating. Switching the engine off "cleared" the fault and things were back to normal. Just got back from a 2000km trip and again had the fault several times.
Now, this is where the fault codes are so important, and they need to be from a Land Rover aware reader as generic code readers tend to only ask the engine for codes and even then ignore the important land rover specific sub-codes. There are many more ECUs on a D3 than the engine, and they all talk to and rely on each other to do their jobs.
